Dungeon Adventure

These games are very much inspired by Tolkein and this was sometimes called the final game in the Middle Earth trilogy. They were later remade with graphics with the Middle Earth references removed and called the Jewels of Darkness trilogy.

There are over 200 specific locations, including rooms within the tower and outdoor locations to navigate en route. Objects range from a coffin and a giant belt to nasty images and a packing case; also watch out for Orcs, Dwarves and other creatures. The parser's vocabulary contains all the standard terms - EXAMINE, TAKE, OPEN and FILL for example.

This follows Colossal Adventure and Adventure Quest, which both came out the preceding year (1983). It is interesting that Adventure spawned a full Zork trilogy and also this trilogy.

Complete our Middle Earth Trilogy. The Demon has been defeated and his Dark Tower cast down. But its dangerous remain, filled with hoarded treasure and magic. There are just two snags. Other creatures want the loot, as well, and many guardians remain: skeletons, carnivorous jellies, black balls etc. Even an orc or two. Success will not come easily!

Level 9 Computing went out of business in 1991. To my knowledge, no one owns the copyright to L9 games anymore and they are truly abandonware.
