Transylvania

Transylvania is an adventure with optional graphics, and a VERB NOUN interface. Two weeks ago, Princess Sabrina suddenly vanished and remained unseen since. King John the Good asks any travellers to help in locating her - you volunteer.

As you begin your quest in the dark forests of Transylvania, beware of the evil that lurks. You will encounter strange creatures like a vampire and a goblin, and experience strange things. Most importantly, a werewolf is constantly chasing you, until you find the pistol and bullets necessary to kill it. Remember fellow traveller, take care...

Due to the popularity and success of this game it received a re-release in 1985 with double-resolution graphics and a more advanced parser called Context.

This is the first game in the trilogy followed by Transylvania II - Crimson Crown and Transylvania III.

Penguin Software changed their name to Polarware in 1986 and then basically ceased to operate in 1989. The trademark was abandoned in 1993 but the IP is stilled owned by Merit Software. This site exists for the preservation of abandonware.
